Greensboro, N.C. - Using federal approval of FedEx's plan to locate a new distribution center in Greensboro, Quixote Group helped Forward Greensboro, the city's economic development partnership, develop a strategy and creative concept that positions Greensboro as the ideal Mid-Atlantic hub for all transportation and logistics needs. A data base of site consultants and corporate real estate brokers received a marketing package labeled "The shortest distance between point A and B is G" and detailing local transportation facilities, demographic information, education resources and technology infrastructure. The package also included a copy of the movie, "Planes, Trains and Automobiles" under a jacket that read, "The challenge of getting from point A to B is only funny in the movies." The package received the "Best in Class" communications award from the International Economic Development Council and raised Greensboro's visibility and viability among important decision-makers and economic development leaders.
